Some Shute & Merchant items are held in the collections of well-known museums, as is this 1886 (above) invoice, which is part of the collections at the Smithsonian. There is no information as to why this invocie was printed on pink paper, but it may have been to draw more attention from the receipient. The 1898 statement (below) is part of the ephemera collection of Historic New England. Most of the examples shared on these web pages are part of the collection owned by Mary Palmstrom.
